Family Christmas

Our first family Christmas together was a little awkward. We were both fairly quiet. Once we got back to my house we journeyed into the living room and perched on the couch. Our conversation was about love and respect. I was very amazed at his ever persistent passion to serve God. He mentioned his desire to love with God’s love. Slowly God was teaching him. He paused. Yet there was more. “I feel that God is calling me, bit by bit to show that love to you.”
My heart was stirred. We came to our knees in sacred prayer, praying for wisdom, our relationship, God’s will and simply poured out our hearts.

As we finished our prayer, I was so deeply touched by his prayer, his passion in the Lord and his fervent desire to serve Him. He brought up his thoughts for work in the future. In his sweet way he described to me the pros and cons of some jobs he was considering. Indeed it was his future, but it felt good to be involved. He was committed to doing God’s will, even if it meant settling for a job that wasn’t ideal. I went to bed that night very inspired. What would the future bring?
