The Talk

I was prepared for an awkward night. We had discussed the topic ahead of time so we knew what was ahead. It needed to be discussed and yet it was so… awkward. He picked me up and we went to a nearby coffee shop, ordered and sat down. As we began to sip our piping hot tea, he took his role as the leader. He eased his way onto our topic of physical touch in our relationship. We both felt strongly about holding purity to its highest standard.
Kissing was brought up and that too, we decided should be saved for the wedding day, if God so willed us to be married. In today’s culture physical touch is so rampant, that by the time a couple becomes married the acts of kissing etc. have nearly lost their luster. We set some guidelines and established boundaries that we would hold each other accountable for. It felt good to know that he felt the same way that I did. It was good to know that he was on my side, there was not a doubt of worry that he would let me down.
