Please Pray for Us As We Consider the Wheelbarrow

Last week I was feeling particularly troubled one morning as I sat down to read. The Lord brought my mind to the short narrative of Matthew 9:27-29, which was an encouragement to me. It is a lesson that faith is key to receiving God’s blessings. I also remembered the story of the tightrope walker who, after pushing a wheelbarrow across his cable, asked a bystander if he though the performer could do it again.

“Of course you can” the man said, to which the tightrope walker replied, “Then get in the wheelbarrow.”

We are at a stage of our life where God is asking, “Will you get in the wheelbarrow? Will you put your family in the wheelbarrow? Your job? Your reputation? Your security?” It’s not faith to stand on the ground and tell people God can keep the wheelbarrow upright. Faith is climbing aboard.

We ask you to pray for us as we move ahead. In the last few days, we have had a heightened awareness of the spiritual battle of our current place in life. Please pray for us:

  1. For wisdom to discern the need for patience from the temptation to balk at God’s calling
  2. For faith to believe God is able to provide for us when He calls us to difficult places
  3. For courage go boldly where this wisdom and faith reveal is God’s will.

Thank you for your encouragement and questions. Both mean a lot to us

You know this, but just to confirm it to you… It’s time to get in the wheel barrow. God will see you to the other side for sure. It’s also time for me to get in. It’s not easy for me to watch Him wheel you away from us but I really do trust Him. You are in better in His arms than mine…it’s always been that way.
    I love you three,
    Dad
