Yesterday, I printed a piece of paper with 44 boxes arranged in a grid. At the top, the paper is titled “Praying for 44 More”. Each of the empty boxes represents a financial partner that we are seeking. In order to start our work at MMS, we need to fill all of the boxes (this an approximate number, based on our current averages).
Hammerin’ Hank Aaron blasted away Babe Ruth’s home run record wearing the number 44. (no, that has nothing to do with this post except the shared palindromic integer)
Currently, we are at 45% of our financial goal. We have a number of families who are already sending their support, and several more that will be soon. Our goal is to reach 100% by the end of August. In short terms, that means we need about 3 new partners per week for the rest of the summer.
One important note is that we cannot start at MMS until we have received the required pledges. If you are planning to wait until we move to partner, it would be helpful if you let us know that. By the time we get to MMS, we will already be at (or very near) 100%, since that is what determines when we start! You can let us know by clicking “Financial Support” at the right and choosing one of the methods listed at the bottom of the page. Just make a note that you are deferring support until we move to Coshocton, if that is what you would like to do.
If you’ve a mind to pray on our behalf, we would appreciate it. Pray for the names that will fill the 44 boxes. We are anxious to start walking the walk that we’ve been talking!
