Fall time is beautiful. This year has seemed especially vibrant, at least it has to me. A few days ago I got the privilege to sit in the cockpit beside the most handsome pilot ever and we flew over the scenic country that we grew up in. The trees were so stunning! Pictures cannot do justice, especially in the low evening light. Nearly every field was swept clean of the fruitful harvest. The leaves of the trees blazed with their last efforts to hang on. Winter is coming and they know it.
God’s beauty is unleashed and finally we got to see this…
Yes, the sunset. For only a moment it lingered, casting its golden glow high into the sky while the large orb sat. It waited until God whispered, “It’s time,” then it vanished from view. I’ve seen the sunset many times, but this time from the sky, it just reminded me of how small I am in the grand scheme. I’m thankful for a great God!
As a side note: Come see us this Saturday. We are giving an update on our missionary news.
