Financial Need Update

Giving wings to the Gospel. Jesus is Lord indeed, and the word must go out. It must be spread throughout our own families, our communities, our country and the globe. We are eager to do our part by giving wings to the gospel. Our calling, we feel, is to serve the Lord by laying down our lives for Christ and taking a step of faith. And it is a step of faith, because it is impossible through our own strength.

Right now we are in a position that feels impossible. We have about 65% of our monthly pledge goal filled. We are so grateful for the generosity of those who have made those pledges. As we have discussed our situation with the staff at MMS, we and they both feel that we need to establish a time limit. We have been trying to get to MMS for over two years, and we cannot let it go on and on. So, we will see what the next few weeks hold. If we are not getting close soon, we may have to reconsider our plans.

Please pray for us in this time. It is difficult to face the prospect of having to let go of what we have hoped and planned for. We have not given up yet; there are still indications things may come together, but it’s easy to be anxious about it. Pray that we will have wisdom and courage, and pray that God will supply our need.

We were thinking about how our need breaks down, and just to give some context here is a scenario:

9 partners at $100.

9 partners at $50.

9 partners at $25.

9 partners at $15.

This is just one hypothetical scenario, but it illustrates where we are. We recognize that God is able to provide, and we don’t want to fall into the trap of thinking that our situation is all about money. We are where we feel the Lord has called us, and He will provide for this need with bounty if and when He wants us to move forward. Our prayer is that His will would be done, and that we would learn to surrender to Him.

Our desire is that whatever happens to us serves to advance the gospel (Phillipians 1:12). As Christians, we must realize that God will be glorified, whether by our joy, disappointment, or even suffering.
