Looking For A City

We’re starting to look around online at houses available for rent in the Coshocton area. We’re just looking ahead a little, seeing what’s available and what to expect. We’ve gotten to know the local towns in the process (e.g. “Here’s a three-bedroom. How far is Uhrichsville? How do you even say that?”)

Here is a sampling of local and barely local places:

The area has a rich tradition specialty housing arrangements. IMG_2860-2They have a whole Newcomerstown, which we figure must be like some kind of orientation. Beyond that are some places with unique Charm. Don’t be surprised if you end up living in a Plainfield beside a Guernsey cow named Nellie. She can’t hear, and neither can her owner Bernice who lives in the Newcastle at the top of the hill. Bernice can’t get around much, so she has to use her Wakatomika phone call each day to have her nephew Roscoe come Killbuck for her supper. He’s not too Keene on seeing her every day, so don’t be Coshocton surprised if he asks you to do it for him.

Okay. My corny humor is over. You take your fingers out of your ears now. I’m sorry to put you through that.

If you are not subscribed to our newsletter, you can read the most recent one here. It is our favorite newsletter yet, because it is the one where we get to announce we are actually making plans to move. Our hope is that we can move in January. We are so thankful that God has opened the door for us. He has and still is answering our prayers.

We’re not sure yet just which town we will be in. For the sake of everyone who will ask for our address, I just hope it’s not Gnadenhutten.
