We are moved and beginning to feel at home in our new house. Moving weekend was a blur, of course. There were so many people moving around, dutifully carrying and packing and stacking our things. We learned that we have too much stuff. I was amazed that we not only used every one of the 336 inches of semi-trailer, but had a box trailer and three vehicles filled to the gills beside. We have already started putting away boxes of garage sale items, which we should have done last summer.
Both of our parents spent the whole weekend with us, helping us unpack boxes and organize things. We are grateful for their help. They got a lot done for us while they were here.
As Crystal outlined in a previous post, we are very happy about our house. We do not believe it is just happenstance that we landed in this house, and God was surely generous in giving us just what we asked for. In addition, we have found that we live in a very friendly town. We have gone into Coshocton several days this week; everyone we have dealt with has been extraordinarily friendly. This includes the bank, the post office, the license bureau, the courthouse, and various retail stores. We have yet to meet someone even indifferent, let alone cold or sharp. I hope we can return all the smiles we receive while we live here. I was excited to find a barber-shop that looks like it has a nice old-fashioned feel, and Crystal was just happy to have an Aldi in town. On our first trip, she nearly danced at how large their carts are. 🙂
On Wednesday, I contracted some kind of a stomach bug that is still hanging around. I’ve not been terribly sick, but I’m not doing much either. I spent the better part of yesterday in bed. I am thankful we have had a flexible schedule this week, to allow me to rest. Hopefully that means I’ll get over it more quickly. I am scheduled to start full-time in the shop at MMS Aviation on Monday. Please pray that I will be well enough to do that. I’m not terribly ill, but the discomfort comes in frequent waves and some of them leave me pretty out of sorts.
We’ve said it before, but we can’t over-state our gratitude for your support, encouragement, and prayers. It has been a faith-building experience to learn to lean totally on God’s working, and see Him bless the seeds He planted in our lives.
