Home sweet home, for a bit!

Bienvenidos a Guaimaca! We’ve been here just over a week and have been settling into our new home, getting familiar with the town and getting to know our neighbors. For those who may not know, we are hoping to relocate our base to this area in the future. We had plans to have it move in ready by October 2020 but with the pandemic that wasn’t possible. However God has different plans and though we are not far enough past the current events to look back and say “Yes, the new changes are for the better,” I trust that God has a plan. Other times in my life when things didn’t go exactly as I’d hoped, things usually turned out better, even sweeter than my expectations. I have a feeling that God is doing that even now.

So here we are. The hangar and houses are nowhere near usable and the runway needs some grading and such. Why exactly are we here and where are we living? The sweet couple who own this property have so generously moved people and furniture around so that we could have a place to stay for a few months. I’m so grateful and humbled by their hospitality. We have a very nice house to live in here and at the same time have direct access to the hangar and 3 houses that we are assessing. Our job here, at this point, is to figure out what needs to be replaced, or rebuilt, how much it will cost, and so on. Have we mentioned the buildings have been abandoned for 15 years or so?!

This is the base we are evaluating.

The children have been getting back in their school work and also love the yard space and the creek that wiggles its way all over the property. It’s every child’s dream play space. There is also a swing set close to our house.

There is a Honduran pastor who lives on this property and on Sunday we all went to a nearby village to hear him preach beside the road. I was blessed by his dedication to serve his fellow believers even though they can’t meet in the building right now.

We are blessed and very excited to finally be here in Guaimaca. Daily, we are praying for wisdom as we continue to move forward and are excited to soon be serving the people of la mosquitia and Honduras!

Greeting Brad, Crystal, and family. So glad that you are able to be at the location where the plane will be used etc. The condition of the house and the damage caused by “wood lice” as they may refer to termites, is so dis hearting. so if you can repair it with block and tin, do so. We from the north always think of wood, CCA wood may work but check around. This is what our son in Belize run into all the time at the house where he lives and own.
WE enjoy heading from you all and may the Lord bless you always. May His face shine on you all! James and Mary Ann Beachy
