We’ve made it back to Honduras! Thank you for your prayers! We had zero problems and the Lord was with us. It is such a good feeling to be back and though transitions are hard; this time around doesn’t seem quite as overwhelming. We have tasted catsup here in Honduras, we know what its like to shop in a market and how to ask for prices. Flushing toilet paper is a no no. Baleadas are made with flour tortillas and not corn. Don’t sit your backpack on the floor. Police with rifles are normal. Those things were learned through a process and we are still learning so much about culture here.
Here in the capital city, Tegucigalpa there are a lot of modern conveniences, there are shopping malls, PriceSmart, Walmart, Wendys, Dennys, Mendels… Our apartment even has a hot water heater and a dryer. I feel spoiled. We will be spending a few weeks here in the city getting some things done, before moving on to the next destination.
Before we left Ohio there was a song that kept coming to my heart its called Prayer of Peace. That is my prayer for our family as we integrate ourselves into life here. The last verse is a powerful one… “Christ before us…” We are here because of Him and He has gone before us! I hope the song blesses you as it has me!
