The longer we live here the more we feel like part of the community. We are so grateful to be here. The Lord has been so good to us in giving us daily strength and wisdom. That’s not to say there are no discouraging days, or challanges. Of course there are, but the peace that comes from God that this is where He wants us for now is unmistakable.
The last two months have been a whirlwind of activity. We’ve hit a record high for the number of flights in a week. We’ve flown patients out and brought patients back who were returning home from their treatments. We’ve transported two corpses and brought quite a few ministry teams to La Mosquitia. The plane has been very active and we are grateful that it is being used to bless the people in our region.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
John 14:27
April is the dry season, and once again, we’ve had the threat of wildfires. This year the villagers have taken a more active role in trying to control fires, and to make fire breaks to protect themselves. Still, we praise the Lord for the rain shower He sent at the perfect time.
One evening as we were getting ready to sit down to have dinner, someone came up to our gate and told us the large fire behind our house was headed our way and had already crossed several small creeks. Last year the creek directly behind us had protected us from a fire and so, we had not been too worried. But upon hearing the news that this fire was capable of crossing small creeks, we got to work. Brad jumped on the Bobcat and began making a fire break between our house and the creek. I got the hoses connected and ready to go if needed. We did what we could in the dark, not sure of what would happen. Later that evening, we heard drip. drip. drip and God sent us some rain! By morning the fire was more or less extinguished and the smoke washed away. A good reminder that we are in the care of God’s hands!

Crystal,
You are such a a talented writer. I love reading what the Lord is doing and seeing how he is using your family to evidence Himself in Rus Rus. I just read back through some of you old posts and still think the picture from your June 16, 2021 post is one of my favorite pictures ever. It’s such a a beautiful representation of how you and Brad are raising a Kingdom family. There’s joy and beauty and peace in that picture. Thank you for sharing your story so well! We’ll be praying for you at Doxa tomorrow.
