2025 Medical Brigade

 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:  a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
 a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
 a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
 a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
 a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

Ecclesistes 3:18

It’s deeply fascinating to see how life has its moments. There are moments of intense weeping and anguish during the passing of a loved one. Moments of utter awe and speechlessness as one peers into a microscope and is enraptured with the complexity of a specimen. Life is full of moments filled joy that cannot be contained along with sadness over broken hopes. Each of these ‘moments’ are intertwined and connected and are the threads of what makes up our life. Like a tapestry we all are made up of different fibers. Each of us unique and yet in a way, each of us connected because we can all relate to those moments that someone else has. It’s those moments that help us to cross bridges, and break down walls. It’s those moments that brings us together. Let’s praise God for all the moments, the hard ones and the fun ones, because He is working it all for His good.

People arriving from their long walk

The end of February we had our annual medical brigade. With the help of locals and gifted physicians that came we were able to see 1,068 patients. The gospel message went out through tracts, Bibles, prayers and the Jesus film. To God be the glory, we even had some people decide to follow Him!

I wish we could sit down with each of these people and hear their stories. Their tapestry is different from mine but we do share the same threads.
