Onward and Upward

The kids are in bed. The house is darkened and quiet. Brad is in the basement, working diligently on manly tasks, no doubt. It’s so good to have some quiet refreshment. The carpets are un-swept and there is unfinished laundry, but for now, in this moment, I feel so thankful. This past week has gone much smoother. I’ve felt better prepared as a momma with the daily issues that have come up and the overall mood of the household- all members included has gotten better.

Several of the ladies at MMS have a Bible study and we are learning about prayer. I am excited about the study. We meet once a week. Along with that I feel like I already have the beginnings of strong friendships. That is one thing that I didn’t really think a whole lot about before we moved, but having the instant support, and friendship of the MMS family is truly a huge blessing. Not only are they going through the same thing we are but they can totally relate to us and where we are in the journey. (They also know of all the sweet spots around Coshocton) I’ve been very blessed by the warm hospitality that has been shown to us. Even in Walmart. Yes, Walmart. A few days ago I received a random “Welcome to Coshocton” hug from the lady who was helping me check out. Another example is every once in a while someone will drop off fresh produce at the hanger for the men to hash out and bring home. Yesterday, we got a handful of sweet potatoes and a cabbage. Not a lot, but I just feel so blessed by someone’s thoughtfulness and generosity. I believe that God is teaching me about generosity and the giving of myself for others. No doubt I will have a lot to learn!
