Counting Pulperias

We walk from our apartment to the language school every day. It’s about 7 blocks away, and there are several ways to go. Walking gives us the opportunity to observe life from the street. One thing we noticed right away is how many pulperias there are. A pulperia is simply a corner store.

Most of the pulperias are in the owner’s house. Some of them are a small room in the front, and others are a bit larger. You can buy a bag of tortillas, a Coke, a couple of eggs, or maybe a papaya. They are a staple of Honduran life. I have been stopping to count them the last couple of days walking home from school. I didn’t get all of them, but this video gives a little sampling.

May your day be filled with all that you need.
