Days of Refreshment

Refreshment, we all need it at times. In due time we all find ourselves feeling faint and limp like a flower in the hot desert sun. We yearn for a cleaning rain to refresh and restore, sometimes it come quickly and other times it takes time. For us I feel like our family is going through a season of refreshment, and all the praise goes to God!

For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.”

Jeremiah 31:25

For Brad and I, we were needing some time to spend connecting and God in his perfect plan sent a new family to live in our apartments. They also have small children and we’ve arranged to trade date nights. I didn’t realize how much I needed that! Our marriage is being refreshed!

Valentine’s Day

Last week we got to attend a conference for missionaries in Honduras right here in Siguatepeque. It was a three day event complete with workshops, preaching, worship, prayer, meals, and childcare. We had the opportunity to meet many new people and also to feed our souls. Our spirits are being refreshed!

Last month we had people from the States come to visit two different times. They came blessed us and went. It was good to reconnect with friends and to show them around this beautiful country. Our family is being refreshed!

We’ve been here 4 months now and its feeling like home. We are making some connections with one of the churches here in town and also the Mennonite church up the mountain. It feels good to be able to go to church and to know some people and to not be the newbie every week. Our children have the opportunity to go to Sunday school, and while it can be a bit intimidating because its in Spanish, I am so pleased that the are eager to go.

Classes are going very well, we love the school and teachers! The teachers really love their jobs and tailor classes to the student. For instance, Brad spent an afternoon with his teacher in a welding shop learning technical words. A few weeks ago I got to go visit a sister in the church and ask her questions and chat about family. I always look forward to class time because I feel like I’m not just a student but a friend.

We’d love to pray for YOU! Let us know how we can! Blessings from us to you.

Praises for those great times of refreshment; spiritual, emotional, and physical – the Lord knows us so well💧
So glad for your “open classroom” style of leaning the native language. Such a great way to learn. Good teachers and friendships are a blessing for sure❣
