Going East

Yesterday and today I drove eight hours to get to La Ceiba in the north of Honduras. Here I met with Esau, a friend and coworker in the ministry in La Mosquitia.

Taking in the sea breeze in La Ceiba.

Early next week, we expect an airplane to arrive from a partner ministry. We are going to join them in delivering several loads of hurricane relief supplies around La Mosquitia.

We are glad for this opportunity to serve together for several reasons. The communities in La Mosquitia are still suffering from hurricanes Eta and Iota that struck in November. The floods wiped out their food supply, killing about a year’s worth of food.

Secondly, it is always good to work with partner ministries and strengthen our relationships.

Thirdly, I will get an opportunity to visit some of the villages in La Mosquitia where we will be working soon, including the village we will be moving to this summer.

Prayer Requests

  • The aviation fuel we need for this trip is stuck on a boat in the harbor here in La Ceiba, instead of in Puerto Lempira where we need it. Pray that the fuel can be delivered so that the airplane can fly.
  • Pray for open relationships with influential people in the region. I hope to meet with people in industry, military, and government. These relationships are critical groundwork for our flight operations.
  • Please pray for the families on our team. I won’t give details, but one of our dearly loved families is going through a sudden trial of grief during an already-stressful season.

Thank you for praying, friends. For the glory of the Lamb, we march on!

Words of Hope and encouragement from Deborah, a prophetess in Judges 4:14 and 5:21b … “Has not the LORD gone ahead of you?” … March on, my soul; be strong !”
