Flights and local communities

We’ve been very busy with medical transports. Just last week we had 7 different people who needed to be transported to a hospital. When the phone rings, the coordination begins. Who will be doing the flight? Will some of the airplane’s seats need to be removed in order to keep the patient comfortable? Does the plane have sufficient fuel? How quickly can we go? All of these things come into play and must be carefully considered and executed and that’s only the part before we take off into the air. We are so thankful to have some great connections with one of the major airports because we couldn’t do all of this without them. They are able to call the local hospitals and schedule an ambulance or two or three to meet us on the tarmac depending on the number of patients we are bringing and will then deliver them to the proper facility as prescribed by the doctor.

Last month, a friend of ours came to La Mosquitia to donate some water filters to the local communities. Though it wasn’t our project we were glad to help get him and his team here into the area and to introduce them to the locals. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who drink contaminated water from the rivers. They say their stomachs are strong and they’ve been been doing it all their lives, but numbers also show that by drinking clean water stomach illness has been curbed. During their education time with the local communities, they also used the dirty and clean water as an object lesson to show how we can be made pure through Jesus. It was an impactful time and there were a few hearts that had were stirred to desire Christ. Isn’t He marvelous?! So marvelous and wonderful! Seeing God working in these communities is truly a sight to behold.

It’s so cool to see a physical example of the heart of God through clean water. Thanks be to God for these object lessons that lead to deeper spiritual understanding. Something I thank the Lord for on nearly a daily basis is clean water. What a gift. Love to y’all!
