Home again

It’s been a month since we arrived back home here in Honduras. We spent a week in Siguatepeque doing a bit of language refresher and merging back into life in Honduras. We were able to reconnect with the wonderful teachers there and strengthen our Spanish skills. The kids were very happy to be having classes again and we were also able to join in for the school’s Christmas party.

Elsie was glad to see her “Puddy” again!

We made it to Rus Rus a week and a half before Christmas. My first days back home meant doing a lot of cleaning, and washing bedding. Things get very dirty and stale here during a two month absence. Following the cleaning we poured a lot of thought and energy into a MAG Christmas party. It was a lot of work but so much fun! God had his hand in all of it! We will write another post about that later.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, there were skits and church services in the evenings. It was a lot of fun to see the community come together.

Of course, an event that always happens during Christmas and the new year is tamale making. We went to visit several different families to wish them well and got to enjoy fresh tamales, yucca cake and rice cake. Such a treat!

Fresh tamale

New Year’s Eve was spent ringing in the new year with a 4 hour event at the church, complete with Bible reading, more skits and some food. These last few weeks have been very fun, aside from having weeks of internet problems. It feels good to be home again!

She turned 4!

It is so good to see that all is well with you folks. After our bout with covid, we are doing pretty well. It was good to see Brad when here in the states. May blessings to you all in your service to our Lord.
