A new year is here. The final chapter has been written for 2025 and we turn to another. Lets reach over and grab a fresh journal shall we? I think that I will choose a yellow one with crisp pages. This year feels hopeful to me. We are a mere 10 days into the new year and already we have had some wonderful moments in ministry. As is the tradition, we begin the new year with VBS. The theme this year was Followers of Jesus and growing God’s garden. We started the week here in Rus Rus, and made our way to 3 other communities.

This year we had a lot of youth from Rus Rus that wanted to help us out with VBS. They put a lot of work into learning the drama and the songs.

One of the crafts that we did with the kids was helping them plant seeds to take home with the intent that as they cared and nurtured the seeds they would remember the lesson. Their hearts are like a plant and must also be cared and nurtured so it can grow and florish.

At one of the communities, the kids received Samaritan’s Purse boxes. Always a huge highlight. As our Honduran Pastor, Esau has been more involved with SP lately, we’ve been able to obtain some for the communities around us.

In this community, miles and miles from another village; no electric, very little cell service, these families live quite spread out. Some of the kids traveled more than an hour to get to the school where we held our class. Talk about isolation. This community always seems so hungry for the Gospel. The adults who came received Bibles and we ended the day with a most joyful occasion – a baptism!
