We are down to the last few weeks here in Honduras before we head back to the States on furlough. It always feels like a scramble to get things wrapped up, and prepare to leave for two months. It’s interesting, each time we finish a cycle before we head to the States, we leave here with different feelings and emotional needs. Some years we are in need of rest, other years we are in need of council and still others, we crave community. I see us leave home here and head back to the States as somewhat of a different product with each completed cycle. We change as we all do. The young couple who left their community of childhood and toting a little baby are not the same people that we are today. Experiences change who we are and challenges help us to mature. All of us as humans are a work in progress. Through a life given to God He teaches us to love more deeply. We learn that there are problems too big for us to solve on our own strength, we learn to lean into our Lord -and that’s just to name a few.
“God didn’t send me to the mission field to complete His work, he sent me here to do a work in me.” Unknown quote.
Life is complicated, messy and challenging anywhere in the world. No matter where you drop your map pin and settle, life happens. Maybe its conflict with your neighbors obnoxious children, maybe your flock of sheep are getting stolen one by one or the local hospital can’t give you the medication you need for some grave illness. We all are a work in progress. God will walk us through difficulties and joys to shape us into the people He desires for us to be. Let’s celebrate His work!

Currently we have a young man from MAG here visiting with his girlfriend. It’s been fun to enjoy a few weeks with them. She is an English teacher and does speak some Spanish, we floated the idea of her leading story hour here in Rus Rus with the locals and she jumped on the opportunity.

Yesterday’s story hour theme was birds so for the game we had chicken races. As usual, it was a riot!
It’s been an over a year since Brad and I have been intentionally investing in these kids. We have such a good group of kids here and it’s been so rewarding watching some of them grow from newborns into 4 or 5 year olds.

This week the guys have also been working on installing the windows for the Learning Center. What a blessing that building has been. Two weeks ago we hosted another 3 day pastoral event there. They spent the time going through Psalms and discussing the text. God is so good!

Prayer request:
