Strong able-bodied man. A handyman with management skills. Must be able to adapt to life in a different culture. Needs to have a heart for the Lord. Age, unspecified.
As we’ve mentioned in our presentations over the last few years, we are desperately looking for a person who loves all things mechanical, has construction abilities and a heart to serve. Our team in Rus Rus is small; only us and another family. Being so remote means that anything that breaks, our men have to fix it. Plumbing, trucks, well pumps, electrical, dental chairs, welding, changing water filters in our community’s drinking water supply, generators… The list is endless. We have been in prayer for a person, young or older who would like to come be a part of our community and help carry some of this responsibility. It could be for several years, or it could be for a few months. Longer is better, but we would be happy for someone to be here for a few months also. We are looking for someone who has the skills and ability to be a facilities manager and oversee these tasks.
Our goal for being here is to serve God and serve those around us. One of the biggest challenges we have right now, is feeling like the list of things that have to be fixed/maintained is so long and at the end of the day there is little energy to focus on the why we are actually here. With more hands here to carry out the day to day tasks and the things that always break at the worst possible time, we can all be more available to minister well to those around us. Out here in La Mosquitia there are very few missionaries, a handful at most. Our desire is to bring Jesus and the Gospel to all. We would love to be more available to travel to new communities, to do mobile clinics, Bible studies, and discipleship programs. The spiritual need here is great and yet God IS working! He is doing marvelous things even though they can’t always be seen. What a glorious God!

We would ask you to be in prayer with us, that God would call this facilities manager to join us in Rus Rus, whoever he may be. If you know of someone who might be interested or maybe it’s you, Brad would love to have a conversation.
